Review – Food Travel Bangalore

July 11th, 2009 Mr.R No comments

Ok , so this is a blog I would really love to review for 3 simple reasons :

1. I am Bangalorean

2. I love food.

3 . I love travelling.

So would I refuse something irresistable ? Nah .

Now lets start the business of reviewing. The latest post on the topic , I stumbled was on a Thai restaurant and thai food but sadly I am a veggie , I read it though , why ? Wait will tell .. Then I moved to the next post – Perfect Scrambled eggs .. Hmmm complete with a youtube link on making it but then again am a ghas phus ! But still i read … Next , was about an Italian restaurant Oh poor me .. my taste buds have not yet gone beyond Indian shores and its foods … But I did read it too ! Guess why ? The narration is really tempting to read ! Suman’s love for food shows in her review and she beautifully manages to cook it in words too !

So if you love food and If you love non-veg , and if you live in bangalore or visiting bangalore or have friends , relatives , enemies ni bangalore  dig into FTB you will really enjoy  the food and the reviews !

Even if you happen to be a Veg like me or non bangalorean and have made a vow never to visit the city still you can read it just to savour Suman’s writing ! It is utterly , butterly, delicious blogging style !

Review of Correr Es Mi Destino

June 21st, 2009 dfourss 1 comment

I have to admit I was first taken aback by the title of the blog.    To be honest, it means nothing to me.    It certainly is not SEO friendly and, I think a title should better reflect the subject of the blog.

That said, I think this blog has great potential.    The design is lovely and the photos are beautiful.   And I’m sure there is a wealth of information here.    Which brings me to the next point.

The blog is busy.    There are three places with tabs: across the top, the left column (starting with Canadian Life) and in the right column (above the blog title listings).     I feel this blog has enough material for at least two blogs: one dealing with things Canadian and one for everything else.      In my opinion that would make navigation a lot easier and perhaps even speed up the response time of the site.

Germany Today Review

May 11th, 2009 Inkweaver Review 4 comments

The first thing that I noticed about Germany-Today was its extremely bright and vivid color scheme.  The black, red, and yellow bars across the top of the blog are the colors of the national flag of Germany, and so they suit the theme of the blog very nicely indeed.  The header of Germany-Today has a nice circle reflection making it look like the top of a reflective iPhone screen.

From there, I began analyzing the site’s structure.  I liked the fact that the search form was right at the top of the left sidebar.  This is very convenient and easy to find.

What wasn’t easy to find was the site’s feed.  The RSS icon was hidden down at the very bottom left corner of the blog.  This is very inconvenient, and Germany-Today would do well to create a prominent subscription form using Feedburner.

Another thing that was missing was a prominent “Contact” page.  All I saw was an obscure link at the very bottom of the page.

The content of the blog was interesting.  The posts were well-written, with a solid focus, like mini-German lessons.  The use of images was professional, and not overdone.  A few of them had centered text, something which looks a little strange, as its not seen very much on the web, unless you are reading a poetry site.

Off in the right sidebar is the Link section.  A few blog listing services and directories are linked back to from this section.  I would suggest that Germany-Today not overdo it with these, as they can distract from the other serious links, as well as leaking precious Google PR to sites that don’t give bloggers very much in return.

Overall I would give Germany-Today three out of five stars.  This blog is still fairly new, and I’m sure it will improve over time, as all blogs do if their authors stick with them.

Keep up the good work.
